California Department of Mental Health Study

Conclusion:  The area that affects our mental health more than any other... is the area involving relationships. The study indicated that people who have no close friends...

...are 2 to 3 times more likely to die an early death...

...4 times more likely to suffer from emotional burnout...

...5 times more likely to suffer from clinical depression...

...10 times more likely to be hospitalized for an emotional or mental disorder... California department of mental health

"It isn't good for man to be alone."...

Genesis 2:18

"Perhaps the most comforting characteristic of Christ is that he liked people.   Writing in scrolls was not something that interested Jesus.  He never sat down and wrote a mission statement.  Instead... he accumulated friends and allowed them to write about Him, talk about Him, testify about Him."

"Each of the Gospels reveals a Christ who ate with people... attended parties... drank with people... prayed with people... traveled with people... and worked with people... I can't imagine He would do this unless He actually liked people and cared about them.  Jesus built our faith system entirely on relationships, forgoing marketing efforts and spin... He seemed to want people to be together... to live together and love one another and link arms."

Donald Miller,  Looking for God Knows What

"20You're no longer strangers or outsiders. You belong here, with as much right to the name Christian as anyone. God is building a home.

21He's using us all... irrespective of how we got here... in what he is building. He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now he's using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together. 22We see it taking shape day after day-a holy temple built by God, all of us built into it, a temple in which God is quite at home."... Ephesians 2:20

"5We are all one body in Christ, we belong to each other, and each of us needs all the others."... Romans 12:5
